Dedicated to all people who love and write CSS
In the late days of 2013’s summer, CSSconf.eu will unite the CSS community in Berlin. This is your chance to meet top-notch engineers, world-class speakers, great web designers and all people who care about CSS. With this one-day, one-track conference, CSSconf.eu aims to continue what CSSconf US started earlier this year in Florida.
Be a part of it, join us in Berlin!
Date & Venue
CSSconf.eu will happen on September 13 2013 in Berlin and offers one day packed with promising talks and time to spend with great people. For all details, see our schedule.
The historical building of Villa Elisabeth creates the perfect setting for a great day: hidden in a small park, located in the heart of Berlin and very close to hotels, nightlife, restaurants and the buzzing Mitte district. By the way: On the day of our event, drones will be flying in the adjacent church as part of the NodeCopter hackathon.
How to get there: Travel and Transport
Getting to Berlin Centre from the Airports
Berlin-Tegel (TXL)
By bus: We recommend choosing Jet Express Bus TXL to Berlin-Alexanderplatz. There, change to the subway (U8 direction Osloer Strasse) and get off at Rosenthaler Platz.

By taxi: A taxi ride from TXL to Berlin centre is about 20 EUR.
Berlin-Schönefeld (SXF)
By train: Take the regional train RE7 or RB14 (Airport Express) to Berlin-Alexanderplatz. There, change to the subway (U8 direction Osloer Strasse) and get off at Rosenthaler Platz.

Public transport in the city
Getting to the venue
The venue is located in the center of Berlin, and is easy to access by public transport:
- Subway: U8 Rosenthaler Platz + 5 minute walk
- Tram: M8 and 12 Brunnenstrasse / Invalidenstrasse + 1 minute walk

Public transport: Apps
There’s also various mobile public transport apps that will help you to navigate Berlin:
-
Web: Berlin Public Transport Web App
-
iOS: Fahrinfo Berlin (free), DB Navigator (free), iFahrinfo (0.99 EUR)
-
Android: Öffi Public Transport Buddy (free), Fahrinfo Mobil (free), DB Navigator (free)
Just add Invalidenstr. 3, Berlin as your destination and these nice little tools will help you find your way to the conference venue.
Getting around by Car
Parking
As in Berlin Centre it’s usually hard to find free parking space (and unfortunately, they’re not cheap either), we recommend public transport. Some hotels offer free car parks during your stay, just ask when booking. Here’s a list of all covered car parks (scroll down to Stadtmitte, these are closest to the venue).
Car Sharing
There’s various suppliers for car sharing in Berlin giving you the opportunity to pick cars (they have an app for that) and drop them off (mostly) wherever you want to. The best-known are DriveNow, Car2Go and Multicity. Please mind that the registration process may take some time and all companies require registration fees, so it may be only worth your consideration if you’re planning a longer stay in town.

Where to stay: Accommodation
Hotel Recommendations
A few hotels we recommend, all within walking distance. If none of those fit your needs, check out HRS or private accommodation options like AirBnB or Couchsurfing.
Time to party!
Hang out with us in the evening
A great day requires a great party and this is exactly what’s going to happen at 8pm. The lovely BeachMitte, only a 10 minutes walk away from our venue and the biggest innercity beach area in Europe, will be all ours. Have drinks with the CSS community, share knowledge and talk to our speakers while listening to wonderful music brought to you by our DJs. Or would you prefer to play JS Joust or beach volleyball? We’d love to have you in! (More information on this coming soon.)
